The use of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) is not new: its purpose was first discovered and used in1930 in Royat (a spa resort in the French Massif Central) to treat vascular troubles.

The injections of CO2 have become increasingly popular since the year 2000 in aesthetic dermatology. The technique is close to mesotherapy: the injections of small quantities of gas in the dermis or the subcutaneous areas improve the appearance of old stretch marks, skin sagging, orange peel skin aspect, localised fat, wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes.

The fees are generally 70 € per session.
